Fire extinguisher servicing for Downing College in Cambridge
Jackson Fire & Security are proud to be providing fire extinguisher servicing to Downing College Cambridge.
The College is home to around 861 students and 177 staff, and is one of 31 colleges within the University of Cambridge, which is consistently ranked among the top universities in the world.
Since 2022 Downing College have entrusted Jackson Fire & Security with their fire extinguisher servicing, covering 700 fire extinguishers and 100 fire blankets in Downing buildings set in the heart of Cambridge city centre.
Jackson Fire & Security were also asked to provide fire extinguishers for the Downing May Ball. This is the largest event held in College, always taking place at the end of the academic year.
Sam Gale, Branch Director for the Cambridge region, said: “With the number of fire extinguishers on site and the need to cause as little disruption to College activities as possible, we always ensure we plan ahead and book this in with the College facilities team giving them plenty of notice, as we need a total of two weeks on site to complete the works.”
